NOTE: Anthem is only playable with a constant internet connection and requires an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription for gameplay.

In the beginning, the gods harnessed the Anthem, a source of pure creation. Wondrous lands erupted into existence. Colossal beasts, creatures, and monsters emerged. But before their work was complete, the gods vanished, leaving behind an unfinished world strewn with the instruments of their creation. The power of the Anthem would not be contained, unleashing world-altering cataclysms, transforming and corrupting those that tried to wield its power. Humanity sought a way to survive, so our ancestors created the Javelin exosuits, handcrafted armor that gave us superhuman abilities. Our world remains in an eternal struggle between the power of the Anthem and the instruments of the gods who formed it. Today, the fate of humanity rests in the hands of a small band of Javelin pilots known as the Freelancers.

Incomplete Game
This game would have been epic and awesome, if it weren't for the lack of missions and things to do. The level cap for your javelin is 30 but at about level 15 there is suddenly nothing left to do. At that point no contracts, no agent missions, no stronghold missions, basically nothing left!

Very Disappointing
Like others have said in their reviews this game has some things going that could make a great game eventually but I'm not waiting around for them to fix the numerous bugs and shortcomings of this game. Unfortunately I'm one of the suckers that preordered this game buying into the hype and kind of bored with Destiny 2. I thought this game could have been a long playing game like Destiny 2 but there's no way this game can even equal the shadow of Destiny 2 much less compete against It for a player base. From now on into infinity any game with EA attached to it gets a rental through gamefly from me first before I buy. Very disappointing, right up there with that trash FallOut 76, that's how broken and incomplete this game is. As long as gamers buy into the hype and preorder unfinished games like this THEY will continue in this business practice of finishing a game after It's release with numerous updates because WE have shown that WE will buy unfinished games. NOT any more for me! Rent first then buy is now my standard OP.

Solid Game Albeit A Bit Unfinished
I actually really enjoyed Anthem. I understand the criticism on the game. There does seem to be a lack of content, the load times can be long, and player matching can be abysmal. Outside that, I honestly found myself enjoying the game. The map is gorgeous and fun to traverse. The flying is fun, though, it can be annoying with all the overheating. The enemies were a bit repetitive, but I found myself enjoying the missions and some did give me quite the challenge. This game has so much potential, and I can see it in the game, but I do understand why some people are down on it. Honestly, if you haven't played this game, give it a whirl. You just may enjoy it.

new patch, great game
This game is sick. Any reviews you read before this one happen to be completely moot - I highly recommend this game, it’s an arcade version of destiny.

Don’t get all of the hate
Is it the best game ever created? No. Does it have its flaws? Yes. But don’t all games? This game is in my opinion a solid 7 or 8 with plenty of room for improvement. I am enjoying myself as is anyone else I know that bought it, which is at least 6 people. I’d recommend giving it a shot and judging it for yourself, what do you have to lose?

Beautiful but incomplete
I had such hope for this game. I played the Alpha, the VIP demo, the open demo. I loved it! Even with the long loading screens, and the infinite loading screen bug, I still loved it! Then came the Day One patch. After the patch the game became unplayable on my Xbox One X. I cannot play more than 5-10 minutes before the game crashes back to the home screen. Sometimes you may get 15-20 minutes of gameplay, but eventually...freeze..crash...back to square one. Worst feature of the game, being teleported to your team if anyone runs on ahead of you. If your into lore and want to pick over an area before moving on, make sure your squad is on the same page. If one of you runs on ahead, you’ll be forced to teleport to your teammate, often missing out on important cutscenes or just taking a moment to collect ammo or health drops. It’s very annoying! HDR doesn’t work on console either at this point. How does this game get released without proper HDR support? And yet,I still have hope!

It is What it Is.
I know its a dead game, but i do see the potential it could have been. Just got my hands on it and for now its a fun roaming experience where you get to immerse yourself in the beutifull world and lets be honest unique combat that makes you feel super at times.

Great game but not what they promised
Too many gripe about the game... IT'S NOT DESTINY, QUIT COMPARING! They didn't hold up to their promise but it's great for what it is. Beautiful graphics, fun world, free roam flying is incredible, combat is fun, and it has a decent story. It's pretty short and not a multi month player like they promised us. Just enjoy it for what it is.
