"I must eliminate them...ALL..."

The bodiless "Hyoki" must hunt down the brain-devouring "Slitterheads", lurking in the alleys of a neon-lit city… Set in the densely cluttered streets of "Kowlong," filled with obscurity and chaos, this battle action-adventure game casts players as the "Hyoki," an entity devoid of memory and physical form. His only motive is to eradicate the monstrous beings known as "Slitterheads" crawling around the city, disguising themselves as humans. Roaming the vibrant neon-lit cityscape, players must seek out allies among humans known as "Rarities," infiltrate and track dangerous organizations, and engage in battles harnessing the power of blood. As the suspenseful drama unfolds, delve into the mystery behind Hyoki's existence and the appearance of the Slitterheads.

FEATURES

TAKE VARIOUS FORMS AND HUNT IN THE RED-LIGHT DISTRICT: Play as the bodiless entity "Hyoki" as you wander amidst the chaos of the city of Kowlong, taking control of various living hosts to hunt down the Slitterheads masquerading within human society.

POSSESSION-BASED HIGH-SPEED ACTION: Being devoid of physical form, Hyoki can slip through barriers and take possession of specific individuals as needed to infiltrate dangerous areas and organizations. By rapidly switching hosts, he can also traverse the city at high speed.

THRILLING COMBAT USING THE POWR OF BLOOD: Hyoki can turn his host's blood into weapons to confront the ferocious Slitterheads and can even switch hosts when wounded to continue the fight. By possessing "Rarities", specific humans who share high sync with Hyoki, he is able to unleash even more powerful attacks and activate unique abilities.

AN ORIGINAL NEW OFFERING FROM TWO INDUSTRY TITANS: Keiichiro Toyama once again redefines traditional genres to bring a new kind of game experience, while composer Akira Yamaoka creates yet another memorable soundtrack to complement the tense and high-energy streets of Kowlong.

Something different
It's definitely a unique game. I appreciated devs tryingout somethinga little different. The story does drag on a little towards the end, but im glad i finished it. All in all a good game to rent, it kept me entertained. My total play-time was 14 hours. So a good one for a weekend play through.

not as good as i hoped for
was really excited for this game wasn't what I was expecting, not that it's a bad game , just the story is kinda all over the place and there is little to no voice acting , but the idea and the combat and the different raritys to play as was pretty cool and the location is nice so I do hope they make a second one with I bigger budget for voice acting and what not

okay mediocre rental
very mediocre game. Barely any plot, doing the same thing over and over again for 10 hours. Finished it, was an okay gamefly rental. I was pretty disappointed. Not a must play horror game by any means

Just bad
Slitterhead is one of those games that you are an hour in to playing and then ask yourself "what the heck am I doing and why am I playing this". The game is boring, looks subpar and is just plain bad. I sure am glad I didn't buy this one.

Slitterhead still sounds weird.
First off, the combat is good. That's most important for this kind of game. because the story really makes you work to understand what's happening and even after beating it you're still left with questions. That being said I really enjoyed the story, the characters and the setting. My main complaint is with the audio, I could never tell when a cutscene would have voice acting. at one point I thought I could guess but then back to back they changed it up. This is a great in-between game or as a break from longchoice driven RPGs. I'd recommend it if you like third person melee and body horror.

Gameplay isnt there.
I rented it thinking it would be like a regular survival horror game like Silent Hill or Siren but it's not. The concept is cool, you jump around from person to person kind of like in Driver San Francisco. But the fighting is souls-like. It's not hard, just tedious and slow. This really ruins the game. Boss fights take forever, you only have a basic attack, it's like a janky ps2 game but not in a good way. Artwork and environments are excellent, just not a good game.
