Congratulations. You're now part of the most infamous crime family in film, the Corleones. Navigate the New York mob underworld from 1945-55 to rise through the ranks and rule the city. Intimidate or negotiate: the choice is yours. How you balance loyalty and fear will provoke lasting consequences, altering how characters perceive you and shaping the storyline. Non-linear missions feature both classic moments from the film and others created specially for this game. Cinematic visuals, story help from Godfather Returns author Mark Winegardner, and the voices/likenesses of greats including James Caan, Robert Duvall, and the late Marlon Brando make this an overall gaming experience worthy of the mighty Godfather legacy.

The Godfather Makes An Offer You Can't Refuse
I loved the Godfather movies [except part III] and when I heard the Godfather game was coming out I jumped for joy. When I got it I was happy with what I saw. The controls are good, no problems. The game play is good, but after a while it get repetitive. The graphics could be better to. With those problems set aside it is a very good game. The game takes you through parts of the movie. It blends your story in with the sory of the movie perfectly. Voice acting is good to, except that the voice for Michel Corleone sounds nothing like young Al Pacino [the best actor of all time]. I say rent this one and see if you like it. If you do then buy it!

Will this game sleep with the fishes?
Oh boy, where do I start. First off this isn't just another GTA clone. This game has the dialog that really matches its 1950s theme. Unlike other games in the action adventure genre, there are no restrictions from the beginning. you can go to any of the five hoods you want. detail in the game is both good and bad. Some of the graphics are really cool like the smoke, fire, and explosions. But then the cars and buildings (exterior and interior) all look the same. Character creation is pretty good and the story has the best scenes from the movie. As you level up your character you can upgrade his skills and spend some money on upgrading weapons. The AI in the game is smart enough to take cover when necessary, and shoot at you when they can. In this game you can even take over businesses and rackets by interrogating or beating up the owner, but this gets way too repetitive. I really liked the fighting system although it could have been a little deeper. I'm sure you'll have fun with this game for a little while before it starts to lose its touch. I give it a 7, out of 10

THE GODFATHA
The godfather is a awesome game. It's similar to GTA series but not as much freedom. Still the missions are layed out in a great way as you rise to don of NYC. If you have ever played the game MAFIA, after playing this game Mafia will look like the worst mob game ever. This one is a winner.

Excellent game with some minor flaws.
The Godfather should take about 30-35 hours to beat if you complete almost everything except finding reels. The game play is very easy to pick up as well as the fighting aspect. The story follows the movie pretty close. The only problem I had with the game is when you are shooting or being shot at the lock on feature will switch to different enemy when you are not trying to target that foe. Also I was killed many times when shot through a wall. Overall it is a Excellent Game and would suggest a renting I myself would not buy it due to lack of things to due after beating it.

what else its da godfather
where do i start man, the min you put game in its make you part of the movie for a while.....it borrowed elements from grand theft we all know but the godfather is still in its own class...the fighting combat is way better than grand theft in my mind, the weapon aiming and reloading could have been a lil better but hey there is part 2 in which part 2 of the movie is the best part of them all.........i cant even keep telling yall how good this really is aside from minor hiccups the godfather should be in your game library cuz its in mine........ GO WHITE SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does the movie proud
Where can I start, this game is so great, the fighting is fantastic and so is the ability to shoot certain limbs of a rival mobster. Upgrades for the weapons are great as well. Designing your own character was one of my favorite parts of the game and dressing him up to look how you wanted him to was great as well. I loved how the game tied in to the movie it was great to relive some of the parts of the original godfather movie. It was just fantastic except for how much damage a rivals weapons would do, sometimes you would die immediately if you are sorrounded by too many mobsters at one time. Other than that I would highly recommend this game.

Not the best, but the best mob game in a while.
The game is really quite easy to beat. It is quite entertaining however. The "Mob Face" is one of its best features. It is simply to beat in the same way that "Gun" was. Lots of easy shooting, some sexual innuendo. A good play, especially if you liked "Mafia"

Right direction
Good game, wasn't perfect. Controls are a little tough to get use to, and because of it you get wasted alot early. They tie the game story in very well w/ the Movie, so the Godfather fan should be pleased.

Godfather The Move this ain't
Godfather the movie was a masterpiece, the game is average at best. The storyline is superb. The people who made this game tailored the script around to get your character into the game and be part of the major plot points in the movie. The character can be created to your liking, guns are great, and the graphics look nice. what's the average?

the gameplay and the surronding visuals and details, lot of glitches in this game, for instance, auto aim is glitchy, really dampers a game when my character cant even auto aim on my enemy who's blasting away my health bar.

Killing Sprees are no fun, This ain't GTA

the surronding visuals, all looks the same, the cars, the people, the buildings, the whores, the mobsters, all the same.

Good for a rental, beat the storyline, play the missions, send it back to gamefly.

A 5 out of 10
