Set in North America during the bloody Seven Years War, this action-adventure game lets you play as Shay Patrick Cormac, an assassin whose life has history-wide implications. Cormac's journey is from Assassin to Assassin-Hunter, so he'll use all of his skills and training to take down his ex-brothers. The open-world setting and stealth gameplay mechanics from previous AC games are back, as are the naval battles from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. This time your ship can navigate rivers. You'll also have a new arsenal of weapons to choose from. New ship-based weapons include an oil slick, which can be ignited. Personal weaponry features the customizable air rifle, which allows you to silently strike down enemies from very far away.

A beautiful end to the last-gen AC series
I played this game AFTER playing Unity on my XB1, so in a way, it was a nostalgic return to the old mechanics. This game was put out at the same time as Unity, so it makes sense that they would recycle some materials from AC3 and 4, in the best way.
Plainly put, this game is a lot of fun. The graphics are as awesome as any you'll see on the 360, the music is intense (although I did turn shanties off mid-game. I got tired of those pretty fast.), and the gameplay is actually very good (compared to the buggy first month of Unity I dealt with).
Oh, and it's probably one of the better stories in the AC universe. (Does anyone else love how Ubisoft pokes fun at itself via Abstergo Entertainment?) It's pretty neat how they tie it in to Unity, as well.
On the whole, I enjoyed both of this season's AC games, and I look forward to seeing if they can make the next-gen iterations even more awesome than this one.
The bar is high. Fingers crossed.

best assassins creed so far
This game uses the same engine as previous games. The ship battles are back and the game is fun. This game is the last gen AC formula at its best. If you like the other games and have given yourself a break from AC for a bit, you will love this game.

Marvelous Game
This is a great game..... Can't believe they didn't market this game....I hate that the hair of the characters still look like its being played on the first PlayStation but other than that....... Magnificent!!!!

Great game
I also sent the UFC undisputed3 in the same envelope which I assumed was frowned upon but I had a very limited amount of choices... My apologies for the inconvenience

Great for AC Fans
As far as gameplay goes, it's basically an extension to Black Flag, not that that's necessarily bad, just not different.
Story-wise it adds some backstory to AC3, and gives a new feel to the Templars. It feels pretty forced at times, where you sit there trying to figure out why in the world an Assassin would act in such a way, but overall strikes some interesting points that are within the realm of possiblity. Disappointingly, about nothing to add to the present day story, but that's not what the game was for.
Overall if you missed hunting and stabbing your friends and want to do it with slightly new mechanics, just want a little taste of the dark side, or for whatever reason just really miss Black Flag, I highly recommended you give this game your time.
