Kuju Entertainment teams up with Nintendo to bring you Battalion Wars for the GameCube. Originally a strategy-game staple for the Game Boy Advance, Battalion Wars jettisons the turn-based battle systems of the originals and embraces a hybrid of real-time strategy and first-person action. In Under Fire you will lead squads of men in battle, directing their attacks and movements. In the heat of battle you will commandeer tanks, gunships and more. Battalion Wars is a test of wits and nerves.

I dont no what everyone else is talking about...
I read some of the other reviews that everyone wrote but i thought this game was fun, i just rented it today and it was better then i thought because i was like i dont no if i should rent this because of the reviews but this game is fun! ya the levels are a little hard but you dont want an easy game do you? the only problem i have with this game is the vehicles because you cant really control them that good and the camera view could be a little better thats why i gave it a 9 but other then that very good game... i would recommend it if you like shooting games.

this game is awesome i don't see how the controls are very hard to learn but my only thing with this game is that the very last level was extremely hard i couldn't beat it and the game only lasted 5 hours

Interesting...
Batallion Wars is a type of game we don't see much on the Gamecube... it's a war type game and to say the least, it's very stylish. The graphics are nice and what's good about the gameplay is that battles can turn into crazy shootouts that will require skills. However gameplay is also where this game goes down. Battles usually require you to organize and strategize and you can't just go in running n' gunning your way in there. This is usually how some war games and strategy games go but sometimes it can just take the fun away from the shoot outs. Vehicles also drive well but you can sometimes get confused because of the weird control scheme. The story isn't very compelling in Batallion wars and sometimes you don't know what the heck is going on. This game is only for strategy game fans and people who don't mind planning their way through. It's a good game but the fun may only last a little while...

Battalion Wars: Good or Bad?
Battalion Wars is an interesting game to say the least. It has decent graphics, and the game plays fine. However, there is no way to run faster, the vehicle controls are difficult to use (Vehicles should have had more time spent on them), and the levels can be difficult. I thought it was an OK game, but you decide for yourself.

Not really what I expected, but that's ok.
I didn't really play this game much while I had it out. This game was not bad by any means but played a little younger than I thought. It didn't hold my attention that well as I probably do not fit the demographic of the target audience which is fine. It seemed like a fun game none the less. A good game for the early teen age group. Easy to pick up, challenging, and entertaining, not much more to ask from a game.

not that great
my son rented this, and he is a huge fan of these types of games, he loves advance wars dual strike for the ds, but he just hated this game, he said the controls were too hard and some of this mission were unrealistic. he played it for awhile on the day we received it in the mail, and he wanted me to ship it back out the same night.

Well, I liked it...
The controls are a bit iffy but if you play it you get used to them, the game is simple to learn and the graphics are fair. The game could've been longer though. It would be cool if there was a 2-player co-op mode. What I really liked was the expendability of the game's units, you could let them do all the fighting but I don't reccomend that. If you're going to play it a rental is all you need.

A bit of a let down
When I rented this game I was expecting something brilliant. However what I recieved was not brilliance, and not even that good to be honest. Gone is the simple, but incredibly fun, turn based nature of Advance Wars and in its place is a game which can't even begin to compare.

The controls are the major gripe of the game. Alternating units through the c-stick is ardous and simply archaic. Because of this, the gmae just didn't seem to flow and seemed like more of a chore than fun.

The other frustrating part of Battalion Wars is the voices. I dreaded having to listen to the awful voice acting. It was actually painful. Between these two major issues and some smaller issues, I just wasn't interested in Battalion Wars. The fact is, it could have been great, but the finished product honestly isn't worth a second look.

Interesting...
The storyline isn't much to shake your fist at. The graphics are good, but nothing special. It takes a little bit to get used to the combat mission and to perfect the controls. the major problem was that your units are not good at all in combat, especially compared to you. They do alright, but to get the job done you have to do it.
One other problem, you never get to fend off attacks from a sweet base like the enemy does in your assaults which is a big let down. If you like strategy games i would rent it, but not if you are waiting for a an awesome game like The Force Unleashed.
