Taking the Fun Out of Fishing
It’s a good thing Gamefly didn’t put Hooked! Again: Real Motion Fishing into the Action category. This game is about as dull as a fishing game can get.
Usually, the game would give you advice on what sorts of fish live in the lake you’re going to fish on. Other games also would recommend a few lures to maximize your chances of catching said fish.
But not here. Oh no. In Hooked! Again, you’re on your own. You have to figure out which of the four types of lures, and if you want to use the natural looking type or the colorful looking type.
And you have to make the lure act like a wounded fish - but the game doesn’t tell you how that’s done.
This trail and error (and error and error) gameplay takes all the fun out of playing the game. Many I times I cast my lines only to find no fish out there willing to bite. The screen would show me my lure in the middle of a vast, empty section of water.
When I do catch the fish, the game gets far too frantic; the voice over woman can’t even complete the sentence she’s saying. She would say things like Rise the Watch the Lower the Hook Off. It really gets on my nerves.
And the game rapidly changes the required position of the Wiimote many times. After flailing the Wiimote about a few times, I would lose the fish to a Hook Off or Line Broken every time. Slow down the action, guys!
It doesn’t matter if I play the Tournament Mode, the Time Trial Mode or the Practice Mode, the game is just one big time waster (some say it’s very much like real fishing). Anything unlockable is worthless if I can’t catch fish - and right now I can’t because of the faulty game mechanics and level design.
Hooked! Again: Real Motion Fishing is one game you should toss back. SKIP IT.

not very good!
The graphics were sub PS2, and it does not have a good interface in regards to where you should fish and why, just weak.

Hooked Again, Reel Motion Fishing
I liked the basic idea of this game but for me, I found it boring.

I like to catch fish in real life but I have a reaaly short attention span... Waiting for the fish to bite takes forever, finding a good spot for the boat is tedious.....

I would rather the fish bites come closer together and that the success of the game be dependant upon the reeling technique rather than the finding of the fish... I also wish there was a saltwater version with trophy fish.

It is a very realistic game but if you want something a bit more fast paced this is not for you.

NOT TO BAD
This is actually a pretty good game. The fishing is realistic but its easier to catch fish without the nunchuk because you can control the line tension better, A for fast reeling and B for slow reeling.

Not worth the rental
don't waste your rental, this was not a good fishing game at all. Try "Strike" (we are hooked on that) and "Shimano Xtreme Fishing" they love that one too..... :)
