Return to the magical land of Linbalm for another adventure where a young apprentice learns to become the land's greatest hero. This time around you'll have two champions to choose from, as you can play as a boy or girl! Either way, you're a blacksmith apprentice and a member of the Colthearts family, a clan charged with guarding an imprisoned demon. When the demon is set free, your adventure begins. Carry out your family's duty and protect the world from the newly unleashed evil. Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 offers major elements of the original, including map-based exploration, real-time battles, and the ability to forge new weapons in your blacksmith shop.

An Incredible Sleeper Hit
Wow. Having playing the first Swordcraft Story (and getting hooked on the gameplay), I immediately rented this game. When I recieved it in the mail, I opened it and inserted it into my DS.

I didn't put it down for the next 16 hours.

The game improves on the first, a GREAT game in its own right, in every way. Gone is the annoying resource system. Included is a system where old weapons can be melted down to make new weapons stronger than weapons made from scratch.

The storyline is a bit blase, but the characters are well developed and keep you playing to see what happens next. The in-game choices, multiple characters, and multiple endings make for hours of replayability; this is made easier by options that are unlocked by beating the game, such as exporting weapons and money from a saved game into a new game.

The gameplay is GREAT. Battles are fast paced and give rewards that make you want to see out fights; your character gains levels quickly enough where it feels like you're making good progression; stat points can be assigned by you, making your character feel like your own.

I'd like to put in a special note about the dialogue; the translators over at Atlus did a great job. The game is full of humor and cute moments; the awkward 'romances' are cutesy enough without being cloying. Just a reat job all around.

Excellent
My reveiw may not be as good as this other one but Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 is an awsome game. Personally, I thought it got a little tough in the beggining but after I leveled up a little the game got addicting. So I highly reccomend this game to all those RPG lovers out there.

It's Alright
Found the game to be ok. It was just not very engrossing. The crafting system was fun and I liked that you could deconstruct things and recreate them. However I only found a few weapon types actually useful in battle and seemed to always revert back to swords. My biggest complaint, and ultimately the reason I returned it, was that, you constantly had to run back and forth between the town and outside. They had portals, but they were too few for the amount of times they required you to go back to the village. I turned it off when I got deep into the first cave and the game's story moved me all the way back to my house in the village with no return point. As for the story, it wasn't very memorable. Too much dialogue that really didn't say much. This validates the use of GameFly over purchasing. Ok game, but not worth finishing for me.
