Graphics: 7.5 Game play: 9.5 Overall: 10
Ok first of all the first 3 reviews up above are totally inaccurate and useless. I will give you an extremely helpful review even though the game is kind old. When I owned this game it was superb in every way, you have your choice of characters good and bad as in Wolverine, Magneto, Cyclops, IRON MAN!!!, colossus, Night Crawler, storm and alot of other characters. The game play is extremely efficient, if you have ever played champions of norath its just the same only alot more flashy considering all the powers you have at your finger tips. At first the controls are hard but as you progress it gets easy and you can control a team of mutants any way you like, switch between a mutant any time you want and use there powers any way you want. The story line is fantastic so there is no worries there. I liked this game so much that I am renting it again from here, though I should have never gotten rid of it in the first place! In my last few words I will talk more about the graphics, even though there not great that does not mean that its not a great game, The games
graphics are not that great but that over all game play is superb in quality. I recommend this game to everyone who Loves x-men and liked the champions of Norath games. Give it a try and beat it before you give this great game a bad review. 10/10

Great Game
I have yet to play the first X-Men Legends game or Ultimate Alliance but I was breath taken when I first started this game up. The graphics are beautiful, the voice acting is superb and the gameplay. Oh the gameplay.

I will start this off by saying that I'm an old-time X-Men fan. I collected their comics back in the late 80s but stopped and sold them all in the early 90s. I haven't followed comics since then. I remember when X-Men came out on the NES, I was so disappointed. Over the years, various X-Men games have come out but they've never been that great.

X-Men Legends 2 combines fast paced action, RPG elements, and an almost unlimited amount of customization to your team. You can pick and choose from almost 20 characters and match them into groups of four. Some combos go well together and some do not.

The story line is alright. Some big bad guy is trying to destroy the universe and only the X-Men can save the day. You chase him down through five stages.

My only real gripe with the game is the enemies you fight. Most of the bad guys are just common drones with little to no resemblance to anything from any comic book whatsoever. With the exception of a few Brood and the Sentinels, I could be battling bad guys from Star Wars, Halo or any other amount of generic baddies. Also, the half dozen or so bosses you fight aren't some of the more famous villains. I know that Magneto and the Brotherhood are playable characters but there's so many cool villains in the X-Men universe. Why did they have to choose guys like Sauron or Omega Red? The boss battles also, IMHO, didn't really capture the energy from the comic books. Even on hard difficulty, its just a matter of getting close enough to the boss and spamming a mutant power until your energy is gone, using a potion and doing it all over again.

All in all, its a great game. Wonderful gameplay, lots of customization, nice sound and a great cast of characters.

Good for a couple hours, but gets tiresome.
I don't know why I decided to rent this, I wasn't a big fan of the first X-men Legends game. This plays exactly the same. It has changes here and there, but the combat and combos are exactly the same. One of the changes is that each character has more powers than they did in the first one, plus being able to play as the brotherhood.

I found all the environments in this game very unappealing. I kind of liked the egyptian place, but each area is way too big. If you make a wrong turn, it will take you 10 minutes to get back. Also, are they only able to make the game with the bird eyes view. I'd rather see it in a different view. There are games on the PS2 action-rpg games with this view that I like playing, (baldurs gate for example) but I'm getting tired of it. I would rent this game, not buy it.

Apocalypse
When i first X-men Legends 2 i thought it was a great and original game. I loved how you can switch between different characters. The battle system is good and gaining experience points for your players is also cool. The downsides are that there was Nobody online like not one person would play. It was too hard for me i had to send it back unbeaten (which i HATE doing)and finally the plot line was kinda stupid (the whole brotherhood and x-men together thing).

It's a good game but i'd rent it not buy it

one of the best action/rpg games out there
even if you are not an xmen fan, you will have a great time playing this game. you'll have a list of characters to choose from; each one with a huge list of powers. this is definitely a game to play with someone else.

A lot of talk and not enough walk.
I saw the promos for this game, and I figured it would be great. It looked great on the promos, but those were only cut scenes. The actual game play looks nothing like the cut scenes. The game did not hold my attention long enough to finish it. I only went so far as to rescue the psychic mutant. I rented it, kept it for a week and sent it back. If you're an x-men fan, just rent it to have your own opinion. You will probably agree with me.

Its not what you'd expect
It's was just whack & boring to play. The graphics in the beginning movie look crazy & u expect the graphics while u play 2 b good. But there not- its a waste of time renting it.
