NOTE: ARK: Survival Evolved is only playable with a constant internet connection and requires a PlayStation Plus subscription for gameplay.

In this open-world survival game, you are stranded on a strange island. Your goal is to survive. But the dinosaurs that live on The ARK have different aims, including killing and eating you. You must use your wits and reflexes to endure in this unforgiving environment. You'll need to build shelter, hunt for food, craft items, and grow crops while under siege from gigantic, prehistoric reptiles. You can work together with others to keep death at bay or use them as a diversion to save yourself. You can even capture and train dinosaurs to make them your pets. If riding a pterodactyl over a tropical jungle landscape or training a pack of raptors to do your bidding sounds like fun, you need to experience ARK: Survival Evolved.

ARK: Survival Evolved
ARK: Survival Evolved is really bad. It wanted a 30 gb update to take 12 hours on a rural dsl. I tired the self server and it didn't give a tutorial so I had to guess on how stuff worked. After dying several times and no way to survival I am canceling the update as there really is not anything that could keep me wanting to play this. In the envelope it goes and return in the mail. I am going to assume you need a brand new computer and cable modem in a big city to get this too work and some walk through inch by inch online or a book. If you play for the story then there was not story line either your just dropped in a zone of easy, medium or hard and you either survive or die. If you do rent then start picking berries to eat, and collect rocks and trees to build a stone pick so you can get flint. Build your weapons first, I couldn't figure out how to lite or cook on the fire so don't waste building one. I did clothes first but that might not have been best so maybe build the hut first. Don't waste time killing the small animals for hides for the shoes as it just means for deaths for you. Good luck!

Great Game: Adjustable Difficulty
Fantastic Game, once I realized you can adjust the settings of the game. If every game had sliders for adjusting different aspects of the game, I believe you would see an increase in ratings and reviews across the board. It is so hard to program games for easy, medium and Hardcore settings that will appeal to everyone, but this game hit the mark by giving you the option to adjust everything to suit your enjoyment. I hope to see this Option in all future games, so the casual gamer can experience everything the game designers had envisioned.

This game is massive.
Graphics are great and the dinosaur models are very impressive. There is a learning curve and some of the servers are pretty unfriendly but if you make your own server or have a friend that has a server it's much more peaceful.

A broken Masterpiece
This game has dinosaurs and dragons, so right of the bat it had me. The survival aspect was somewhat new to me, I played 7 days to die but that game sucked. So for the first hours of the game I didn't leave my beach because I didn't want to die. The graphics are pretty bad, something that could be on an early ps3 game. The dinosaur hunting certainly makes up for that. The game has alot of customization for your character, yet in third person it looks atrocious. I've always hates games that let you customize a character but lacks third person, this game has third person but the gameplay looks so bad while your in third person(so why have it?).The whole point of the game is for survival, on paper that sounds fun to me. The problem is it gets way to annoying after a while. People don't get thirsty or hungry every five minutes! Or die of heat stroke that fast! Anyways I did find this game to be very entertaining, mainly because of the dinosaur hunting. Still I wish this game was made by a bigger company. There are so many bugs that in the end ruin the super fun experience that I'm trying to have.

Glitchy
This game is amazing... The graphics are not the best, they glitch and some times look pixilated. I would for sure rent this game. It is totally playable and a lot of fun.

ehhh
The game feels like a big bug fested game it's pretty fun if you can survive without dying every 2 mins of being thirsty or hungry people don't get hungry every 2 mins and then sometimes you respawn places where the dinosaurs kill you before you can even wake up so this game is a rent but definitely wouldn't but it at all

Doesn't have scorched earth on disk.
Don't even bother with this game. Charging $60 just for the base game with no scorched earth.
