Call of Duty: Finest Hour was developed by Spark Unlimited, a new studio formed by some of the same creative masterminds behind EA's Medal of Honor series. In Call of Duty you will engage in a unique World War II storyline filled with challenging missions and rich battlefield environments. You will participate firsthand in intense cinematic battlefield conflicts as unsung heroes fighting as part of a crack squad through the chaos of battle. Play as three different allies, the Americans, British, and Russians. Call of Duty features authentic weapons, vehicles, environments, combat missions, and the real sounds of war.

Fighting on three fronts
Call of Duty does a good job of providing a number of different styles of play and locations, but sometimes less is more. You fight against the Nazis as a Soviet, Brit and American, so unlike Halo2, you're always the "good" guys. You play as a sniper, tank commander, light recon soldier and regular ol' grunt, so you get a lot of different experiences. The historical research to keep it accurate is nice, along with the interviews during the credits. My two biggest problems with the game: 1) the AI soldiers working with you tend to get in the way more than anything. You don't control them like many games, so they step into your line of fire and sometimes even get in your way when you run for cover. 2) spreading the game out over three continents kind of short-changes each one. Just as you get into liberating Stalingrad or fighting the Afrika Corps or making the final push into Germany, that section of the game ends.

All in all, I'd say it's a good game, certainly worth renting. But I'm not going to run out and buy a copy of it. Good thing GameFly exists.

Call of Duty: Finest Hour
I bought this game without having played it because it was only $10 (it was a ultimate greatest hit). I figured since so many people had bought the game that it was bound to be good. Boy was I wrong. The game itself is great, but the controls are so bad it makes it very difficult to play. I recently played Call of Duty 2 on the Xbox 360 and it's light years better. I would not recommend this game giving what else is available.

Decent game
It's a ok game. But I just wasn't impressed with it. The controls were not good at all and the guns in the game just sucked. Would have been better if there were more, better weapons.

An okay game....
This is a good, solid game, but it doesn't capture the player and pull them into the game, like the original series does. A fun game, but I recommend to stick to the original series.

Average Game
This game was on the average level. It was nothing spectacular. The graphics are ok. The controls are ok once you get used to them. Even the story line itself was ok. Everything was average. Nothing really stood out to me. When I beat the game I was a little upset cause I didn't even know that was the last mission. But it was a decent game. So I will say its worth the rental.
