The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan - until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But honorable tactics won't lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting - the way of the Ghost - as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.

Just amazing
If you ever wanted to be a samurai this game is the next best thing. The visuals are breathtaking and the story is riveting. The controls take a bit getting used to, but so rewarding when mastered. The main character could be a bit more engaging. However, the rest of the characters make up for it.

Game of 2020
An amazing game. Enjoyable gameplay. It doesn’t force you to chose between paying as a Ghost (stealth) or honorable Samurai (attacking head in). There’s no power up hidden behind just playing one way the entire time. Play as you want. The graphics look stunning and it has tried to force any dlc or MTX (which the game doesn’t even have). My only complaint is that the game doesn’t have a lock-on feature. However, that still doesn’t prevent it from getting a 10 out of me. It’s the most fun I’ve had with a game since Witcher 3 or Uncharted 4.

Best of the year so far
This game is the phantom pain meets red dead two.
Awesome job of character development. Jin grew on me almost immediately. The graphics are breathtaking. I find myself just galloping on the horse through a forest just for fun.
Play style is a bit hard at first but once you get it down you feel like a real bad A.
So far this year I haven’t played anything as good. Not even near it.
It’s top notch quality.
Probably keeping this one. 10/10

amazing
An absolute masterpiece. It’s been awhile since there was a game I just couldn’t put down. The combat is great and so is the story.

excellent Samurai experience
A few shortcomings here and there (like repeating enemy models) are easily dismissed in this cinematic romp through a stylized Japan. The combat system is unique, challenging and fun. The game has lots of options to tailor the experience to your preferences (Japanese voice acting!) there are so many extra details added to all of the games systems to make even the most tired tropes it’s own. I really appreciate how focused GoT’s open world is, unlike some games that try to wow with size. Lots of character customization, this game is a must for anyone who has interest in Japan.

love the graphics and gameplay
Playing as a samurai is very enjoyable and there are many fighting stances to learn that keep things interesting. Wonderful story too but mostly
this game is absolutely stunning. The changing sky and nature surroundings are so very colorful....I have to stop playing every so often just to look around and take in the scenery.
It’s amazing, just get it.

This is the one
I love video games. I play at least 50 new games every year. Including low budget download games. And every year there is allways one game sometimes two that stands above all the others. In 2020 this is the one.

Great game!
The best comparison that I can give this game is it's like Red Dead meets ancient Japan with samurais. I absolutely love this game. It's a strong contender for GOTY 2020.

GAME OF THE FREAKIN YEAR!!!!
Enough said... Story, graphics, gameplay, music. The overall ambiance I just what makes this game great. This game feels like a samurai version of Tenchu which is what makes me fall in love with it. My only criticism is that I finished it lol. I’m not one to trophy hunt, but one of the few games I had to get platinum.
