Very nice rental...
Hidden Mysteries: Titanic is a well thought out, very well illustrated game for the DS. The storyline starts out with you (as a 3rd class lady married to a 1st class gentleman), traveling to America on the ill-fated voyage of the Titanic. Admiring the 1st class accommodations is great, as the quality of the game reveals itself. There are many "mysteries" to be solved as you play, starting with your boarding pass, it's been stolen and the purser won't let you on the ship! Then your mother arrives, begging you not to set sail because she has a bad feeling... as you solve each mystery, the story sets itself to the provided answers you choose to other characters questions. I, for one, chose to pick answers that were rather mean, or 'smart', towards my "husband", and he ended up staying in the lounge drinking and generally ignoring my character, lol! (In those days, women were not permitted to speak back to their husbands, so I picked those answers just to see what would happen). There were choices to answer him in the 'polite' way, so the storyline I had would be different had I acted a proper lady of the time. So you can see that this game will have general replay value, however, the mysteries solved will be the same, and you can breeze through them since you know the solution from the first time around, which could be rather boring.
As for the ending, we all know how that turns out, but how you handle your character will depend on whether you get off the ship, or miss your lifeboat!
All around I'd give this game a thumbs up for creativity and quality, but it is easily run-through in less than 4 hours of gameplay. The puzzles, or 'mysteries' that need solved along the way are easily solved (there is a magnifying glass on the left side to click if you get stuck, and it will highlight what needs done next). Replay value is so-so, because of repeat 'mysteries'. I'd definitely recommend rental over purchase.

Entertaining, but short.
I love puzzle games! This game, however, was a little short to my liking. The storyline for the game was good, and kept my attention. It was fun learning about one person's view aboard the Titanic and helping this person survive. The puzzles it had were entertaining and slightly challenging, but I was able to complete the game in about 6 hours. I personally prefer puzzle games to be a bit more challenging and last longer than this one. It would be a lot of fun for the younger player though!

Fun game, too short.
It was a very fun game, but it was over too fast. I wished that you were able to play as more than one character as it leads you to believe.
