The rules on the Lost Island are simple: play a part in dinosaur extinction or they'll play a part in yours. Return to Jurassic Park in this story-driven first-person shooter. Weapons and survival expert Craig Dylan has been brought in to protect a research team investigating an energy surge on the island. Use 13 weapons in 12 levels of arena combat, boss fights, and other battles as the first and last line of defense against a bunch of hungry prehistoric lizards. Visualize and target enemy weak points using the cinematic adrenaline burst, travel back in time in Sci-Fi Story Mode, and do your best to make it out alive.

Do you like killing Dinosaurs?
If you like the idea of having lots of guns and lots of Dinosaurs to kill then this is a game for you. Unlike the big budget, Turok released on the 360 this game gives you plenty of Dinosaur killing action. There isn't much to say about this game. The game drops you off in the middle of the bermuda triangle and invites you to kill endless waves of dinosaurs with an array of weapons that span from old, Bolt action rifles, to modern assault rifles. There are a few portions where you will need to build and maintain a defensive position while keeping attacking Dinos at bay. Yeah, there's not much of a story and the graphics aren't silky smooth but if you want to kill dinos you won't be disappointed here. Again, the only thing that needs to be considered before playing this game is the fact that it's a budget title, so it's by no means a technical or graphical masterpiece but it has some B movie style charm and the gameplay feels relatively smooth and the graphics get the job done.

Surprisingly good...
...yes the game is short but this is easily one of the better "bargain" games I've played on the 360. Good shooting mechanics, solid graphics, and loads of dinosaurs to encounter make JURASSIC THE HUNTED a lot better than you might anticipate. Well worth a shot -- and definitely superior to the disappointing TUROK game too.

Enjoyable game Easy 800 gamerscore
I really enjoyed playing this game. I played it for the achievements and got a lot more out of it. Anyone that enjoys 1st/3rd person shooters will like this game. One thing that makes it special is the adrenalin mode. It slows down time and identifies critical hit spots making killing the dino's eaiser. 800 gamerscore should take 1 play through and about 4 or 5 hours. It will take way longer if you try to play through without dyeing or on the harder difficulty.

The Flaws of the Game and the Goods of the Game
While playing the game, I found it very interesting, the killing of the dinosaurs was fun, but it did have some flaws. One of the flaws was that you had very little ammo and when you ran out, to bad your dead in the game. The second one is that you have to shoot the dinosaur in certain spots other wise, you loose ammo. Then it has it's good sides like the thrill of the game. If you love dinosaurs or you dislike dinosaurs, then this is your game, because you get to kill a lot of dinosaurs.

If you want to kill some dinos, this game is for u
If you go into Jurassic with really low expectations, you will finish the game a happy man. Really what it comes down to is this, the cut scenes look stupid and sound stupid.... for example, "What the foxtrot!" was used at least twice. The single player campaign is short, there is an achievement call "Nuck Chorris Rex"---Chuck Norris for you slow people, where you beat it without dieing. Now I did die twice, once blowing my self up and the other by the boss. If you do die just hit the restart level button and the achievement will still unlock. What makes this game fun is just blowing up dinos. There is a large variety of weapons from 9mm. pistol to a LMG to a RPG, so killing never gets old. After you breeze through the campaign on easy, you unlock hard mode. Once you unlock it, you receive the Plasma rifle. This gun is pretty much 1 hit kill with infinite bullets. Which means that the game on Hard is easier than it is on easy, Which is a little silly. Another redeeming factor is the Survivor mode. It plays out like Naz1 zombies, with dinosaurs. You unlock guns and powerups on the later levels. You can go at it alone... or I'm 99.9999999% sure you can play with some friends on Xbox live. I didn't have an internet connection at the time of my rental so I didn't use that feature..... SOOOOO if you want to blow up some dinos give this a shot.

Not a bad game
I thought the game was a lot of fun. The concept is simple and the graphics aren't great but the game did an excellent job on atmosphere. There were times when I genuinely felt like I was actually in danger. The game doesn't have a lot of weapons and the dinosaurs are hard to kill. Which are the only down sides.

Suprise
To be honest I rented this game completely by mistake. Imagine my suprise when I looked at my gameQ and saw Jurassic was on its way, especially after having Turok not long ago and being totally frustrated and let down by it. As far as I was concerned one dinoslayer was enough and I wasnt too interested in giving a new one a chance, however I had nothing else to play so I didnt have much choice.

The game itself is actually pretty solid. Good weapons, plenty of ammo, and the dinos arent too difficult to kill. The graphics arent bad although they arent exactly pushing any limits, the sound is good and the controls are good. The problem is buying into the story. The story is aweful, just aweful. I found myself walking away from the cut scenes to make a sandwich or get a drink so I wouldnt find out something or hear something that would make me dislike it even more. I've gotten used to out there storylines, especially in FPSs, and being a fan of FPSs I have played quite a few, but this one is bad. I mean really, using the bermuda triangle? come on now.

If you are looking for a short game with solid game play and that is generally fun to play and are ok with ignoring the story and just slaughtering dinosaurs, this is totally worth renting. It may even be worth renting just to see the aweful storyline, and just wait till you see the end. Its so bad that it was most good. Almost.

Short fun, no longevity
This title could have been a home run for bargain bin games but due to obviously lazy development and/or production it is missing some vital elements to make it long lasting.

First off, there is NO online play at all. No deathmatch, no co-op, nothing. This DESTROYS any desire to own this game, making it an instant renter right off the bat.

The second point is directly related to this first point: survivor mode. Survivor mode is an awesome idea, borrowed from Horde mode in Gears of War 2 or Firegfight from Halo ODST. But with no option to play co-op, playing by yourself gets real old real fast.

The GFX and gameplay, including weapons and adrenaline mode are surprisingly good. I found the weapons and animations used for them to be pretty great. But with a single player-only game you get almost mad that you can't share the experience with anyone else.

Overall, it's purely a renter, though if you didn't rent you really won't miss much.
