Transformers is (sometimes) a game to remember
To start off, this is basically a 3rd person shooter where every mission you and two compatriots battle it out in the 10 chapter campaign, as well as a Call of Duty remake of Zombies Mode called Escalation as well as a multiplayer mode.

---Campaign---
Some people may say differently, but I found the story fun and the characters and gameplay better (side note- flying around as a jet is the best!). It's a run and gun, no cover system, but who would want to hide in cover when you're a giant robot, right? Graphics and sound are amazing (though dialogue is sometimes Transformers cheesy), and the only real problem I found with it is that as you progress through the game, the enemy tries to overwhelm you with pure numbers instead of skill. Pretty annoying at times, but I gave the campaign a 9.

---Escalation---
Not much to say in this area, if you're a Call of Duty Zombies Mode fan you will definitely have a lot of fun here. I gave it a 9.

---Multiplayer---
The multiplayer mode annoyed me a bit, and that is because it's basically a melee fest. Your weapons don't do much damage against the other players and you will get REALLY annoyed when people just jump down from the sky and axe you in the back. Plus the connection issues are present, I had my connection lost 3 times in 30 minutes in my first online experience, but its been a lot better now. Perks, create a character, and 6 types of game modes make it interesting and worth your time. I gave it a 7.

---Verdict---
All in all, I gave this game an 8, and it will live up to what the last 2 Transformers games could not. I'm not a huge Transformers fans (I never read the comics), but someone like me who is interested in the series will be delighted. Well worth the rent.

Best Transformers Game, Overall Fantastic Game
While not perfect, the newest Transformer game blows all the others out of the water. Both the single player and multiplayer are fun, though multiplayer is really where this game shines. Take control of various Transformers, each one belonging to one of four classes that provide different gameplay options. In single player, you're reduced to running and gunning various enemies through the campaigns. It's not very long, so if you aren't planning on playing multiplayer with this game, then don't buy it; a rent will do.

But if you plan on playing multiplayer, buy it by all means. There's a little learning curve, not to dissimilar from playing Unreal Tournament online for the first time; namely, you get blasted quite often (especially if you start with Scientists, like me) and you have no idea where it came form. But once you get the hang of if, the tactical fun this game provides online comes out beautifully.

As for controls, they are top not. They FINALLY got transforming right; click the left stick and you transform. Click again to changed back. That's it. And they really made your vehicle form worthwhile, as there's things you can do in that form that you can't in your robot form. So knowing when to be a robot and when to be a vehicle is not only key to your success, but a really fun mode of play.

Here's the breakdown:

The good-

1) Extremely fun multiplayer modes.
2) Level and class based online system with a good deal of customization.
3) Excellent character control.
4) Deep tactical gameplay.

The not so good-

1) Single player is relatively short and does not carry the entire game.
2) Jagged landscapes, while understandable (it's on Cybertron, duh) get a bit hard on the eyes after a while. Everything starts looking the same.

Summary - if you plan on playing online, buy it. If not, rent it.
3)

A Classic
Somehow, someway my local Best Buy has the entire playabke game available at their X-box kiosk. After spending more then an hour playing it let me just say that this is the Transformers game that fans of generation 1 have been waiting for since the Playstation 1 release
The story take place prior to the autobots and decepticons landing on Earth, on their home planet of Cybertron. For those that have ever wondered how Optimus became "Prime" or how Starscream became a decepticon the stroy will be a real treat.
The controls are pretty fluid, the characters actually move quite well for giant walking, talking, transforming machines. If you have been playing a lot of Call of Duty or Battlefield yo may want to change your control scheme however. The targeting comes off as a little sloppy at times (especially if you are firing off rounds like a mad person), but I believe this will add to the tension of some firefights. Transforming at the push of a button and maintaining the transformation until you press the button again is great. Gone are the days of holding a button for a transformation while trying to shoot and drive at the same time. Usually you will work in a squad of about three members and your AI teamamtes will do a good job of enganging targets and pointing you in the right direction if you do not where to go or what to do. The camera works but does put you at ackward angles at times, this can be easily overlooked though.
Although I was not able to play the multiplayer in store, I was able to play the demo via x-box live. Before anyone points it out, Yes, it does take a lot of good aspects from some of the more popular shooters out there. Class systems, upgrades, experience points, changes to loadouts before battle are all there. Every aspect of multiplayer you have seen or heard about somewhere else but you wont mind because it Transformers! Overall this is a great game that will please fans of both the generation 1 transformers and the newwer incarnations.

Much better.
Great storyline, average multiplayer. Loses two points from being perfect. One point for no cover system, very important. Another point for the transformers looking and feeling a bit on the light side. There were times I felt these machines were made out of aluminum. However, this is the best transformers game till date. A must play!

A Classic game that should be bought
I'm a huge transformers fan, ever since I was 8 years old, this is the game I've been waiting 26 years for a game like this. The Multiplayer is fantastic, you can create and color your own character, The multiplayer is a mix of gears of war and Call of Duty Modern Waffare. The campaigns are EPIC and long, I beat the 1st chapter out of ten and it took me around 3 hours on hard.

You Got the Touch
Finally the Transformer game we've been waiting for. High Moon did an amazing job with the stylish 3rd person shooter. The attention to detail is stunning. The character designs and animation in particular are top-notch. Even just standing around, your bots' armor and weaponry will continually shift and re-align creating a sense of fluidity with the characters that we haven't seen before. Likewise, the environments are highly detailed and more varied than you'd think from a game taking place solely on a robotic world.

For you fans of the original cartoon out there, Hasbro has even sanctioned this story as canon for the series. Even Peter Cullen reprises his role as the voice of Optimus.

The clunky controls from previous TF games are gone, replaced by a streamlined and intuitive control scheme that allows for seamless transitions between vehicle and robot mode. In fact, most encounters seem designed around allowing (if not rewarding) players who shift between robot and vehicle mode at will or players that experiment with different tactics. The game easily holds its own with the other high-end 3rd person shooters in the industry.

Multiplayer is based around a class system where players will choose their class, chassis, weapons, and powers with more becoming available as you level.

There are just enough enemy types to keep the campaign fresh and exciting, however it can become a little redundant at times. A minor gripe, but one that is noticeable as the campaigns are longer than you would expect.

Also, it would have been nice to be able to use unlockable and DLC characters in the campaigns instead of strictly for Escalation (WFC's answer to Call of Duty's Zombie mode) and Multiplayer.

It should be said that you do not need to be a fan of Transformers to like this game. The gameplay is more than strong enough to stand on its own legs without the "gimmick" of it being a TF title. WFC is DEFINITELY worth a rent at the very least.

This game lights the darkest hour.
I will make this nice and short. This is certaintly the greatest Transformers game out there today. All Transformer fans of all kinds will get something good out of this game for sure, and so will the average gamer. Despite a few small flaws this game still shines.

If u <3 Gears of war or COD get this
If u thought transformers war for cybertron would be a bad game Then u are very WRONG!!
This game has all the action an adventure of a COD or GEARS game

First the campaign is epic, very action filled and your CPU buddies actually help u instead of just standing there also it shows how optimus became a prime or starscream became a decepticon, but I think there is too much driving/flying through the levels....9/10

The multiplayer is amazing with lots of killing and u have special abilities to use to your advantage
There are many game types and levels to chose from with action in every corner, but it is a melee fest with giant hammers swinging over and over which is BAD :(......9/10

Overall 9/10 It is a must own for any transformer or action fan. I recommend to rent or better yet BUY IT!!!!
