Better Than I Could Have Imagined
This game was excellent. The story kept me entertained, and the character roles were really well done. I actually liked the combat throughout. It was definitely one of the best stories in a game I have played this year.

guardians forevet
as most people know concerning square enix games it's normally a hit or miss on their titles . fortunately for this title it was a hit not like a mega hit but definitely a good step in the right direction with their marvel productions. having learned a thing or two from avengers some improvements has been made . guardians of the galaxy has a depth story , good gameplay mechanics and awesome character interactions and chemistry understanding the source material of the characters. down side of this game is frequent frame rate drop during combat . but it might just be with my ps4 maybe ps5 version dosent experience that.

Excellent game.
This is a near perfect game, only issue is the main character is incredibly whiny.

Extremely Pleasent Surprise
I was not expecting a whole lot out of this game, but I loved the movies, so I gave it a go. Loved it. Great story, combat was challenging and felt important without getting too frustrating. Loved some of the story beats, charactor banter, and some of the bosses were so much fun! Fun soundtrack of course! I played on PS4 and it was clear it was struggling a bit. The framerate was a bit inconsistant and some of the platforming felt a little chunky. If you mind a lot of chatter from your team, it might get a little grating. They, much like thier live action counterparts...do not shut up. I happen to enjoy that, so it counts in favor of the game, you may not agree ;)

Wow this game completely surprised me so awesome!!
Last week I finished up the platinum on PS5. After Avengers I had no faith in any Marvel licensed title from Square Enix. However, GOTG completely blew me away. The game was very story driven and was more based on the comics than MCU. Some banter between characters was a little cringy, however most was very good. This game has a bunch of heart and some emotional moments. The soundtrack was awesome if you dig 70's/80's music. Graphics look good some bugs and glitches nothing game breaking. Gameplay was fun I loved issuing orders to the rest of the team as Starlord. It was pretty awesome using their abilities all together to gain an advantage during fights. If I was to compare it to another game I'd say it has the most in common with Mass Effect. You can definitely tell that the creators were heavily influenced by Bioware epic trilogy. Do yourself a favor and do not pass this one by!

Guardians of Redemption
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is a fun, hilarious, action-packed thrill ride from beginning to end with a great choice system, circa Tell Tale Games, and addictive combat that is more sophisticated then I thought it would be. It is the closest we may ever get to a proper Han Solo simulator, and I love it! This is a game made for the fans, both film and comic alike, with lots of great easter eggs and surprises along the way. Eidos Montreal successfully gave us the Guardians single player experience we wanted, and I really can't wait to see what they have in store for us next. If you played Marvel's Avengers, then you would be forgiven for being hesitant at the prospect of another Square Enix produced Marvel game. Don't worry, I felt the same way. But, after finishing the game and seeing everything it has in store, I was pleasantly surprised with the end result. The story is at the forefront of this game, and it is very enjoyable. As you make choices, you create different outcomes, and your team will react differently. I absolutely loved the character progress of both Peter Quill and his allies. You start off at each other’s throats and by the end you are a tightly knit unit. Combat is a lot of fun, though the control scheme did take some getting used to. Using each Guardians abilities by giving them commands works really well and allows for some really sick combos. My only big negative is the amount of bugs and glitches I came across that hindered the experience. Also, I really wanted more ship focused missions!! They give you a couple to wet your appetite but I really wanted more and more. Also, and maybe this is just me, but I found some of the unlockable costumes to be lack luster. Overall, this is the Guardians of the Galaxy experience I hoped for.

Love and dislike a lot of parts of this game
First off, this might be one of the best adaptations of a comic series/characters ever. In terms of doing justice to an IP, this game goes well above most any other game I've played. It's a level of care only a few other games like the Arkham series have gotten right. Where I don't enjoy the game is the actual gameplay itself. The combat is very boring. All increasing the difficulty does is raise the enemies health to the point where it's becomes even more boring. This isn't really a shooter. It plays more like an action RPG. Yes you technically point your guns and shoot them, but with the lock-on system and minuscule damage output, the game is clearly based around using you and your Guardians abilities in unison to deal damage. My problem is that it takes ME out of the combat. I never have fun shooting or using abilities. It's more avoiding damage and waiting on ability cooldowns to come off. Then there's the "exploration" sections of levels. They are extremely linear and pad out sections of levels a little too much. The movement, animations and traversal are a little too stiff and on rails to really enjoy them. They really exist just to keep banter between the Guardians going and to be fair, the dialogue is awesome. The handful of puzzles aren't really puzzles. It's mainly just walk around until you find the thing you can interact with, with one of your partners. One major problem I think is the pacing between combat, exploration/puzzles and story segments. It's a really uneven experience. Some levels are better than others. Two levels really let you explore a non-combat environment and that I really wish there was more of. Exploring Knowhere Outpost was great, but I wish there was more of that. So gameplay aside, the dialogue between characters nails the universe. The main plot does get a little tropey with saving the world and sometimes characters are forced to move past a personal obstacle a little too quickly to make sense, but overall what matters is that the Guardians themselves are done so well. The visuals are also great. Especially the opening level and a desert like planet later on. Sounds, music, licensed soundtrack and voice acting are all top notch. This is a game to play if you like Guardians of the Galaxy or just want a more story oriented game to casually play through.
