Motorcycle racing franchise MotoGP is back, and it's been totally overhauled! New for 2014: an all-new sound engine, revamped graphics, improved lighting and shading, tons of new game modes, and robust online support. The game includes both 12-player online and 2-player local multiplayer, with online game modes including Grand Prix, Championship, Sprint Season, and a new mode called Split Battle. When you're bored of playing with others, you can try out MotoGP 14's many single-player modes. Career Mode lets you create your own rider and try to become the MotoGP World Champion. Other game modes include Time Attack, Grand Prix, World Championship, and a new Scenario Mode where players are put into a variety of situations based on past MotoGP events. You'll have over 100 riders to choose from and race on more than 18 tracks.

Horrible!
For some reason I was expecting F1 on two wheels, but it doesn't even come close!!

MOTOGP14
boring and intuitive after the first our the need of motorcycle went right out of the window!
Why not make a game like FORZA but with motorcycles racing around a track is no longer the thing to be or do. Tourist Trophy minus the tracks winning combo.

moto gp 14
The graphics were cheap you could see the lag on the other drivers, it was like playin moto gp 06 nothing changed. In short it was comical I spent more time putting in my name. I was expecting cool graphics different views very disappointing.

Simply a great all around racing game
I come at this game from the standpoint of a very bored "Sim" racer. Games like Forza and Gran Turismo imo have moved too far away from being sim racing games. They seem much more concerned with online economies and car collecting stuff. Which is fine, but both of those games could use a huge does of what Moto GP has. And that is fun creative ways to race.

First, on the physics. They feel pretty good. Probably a lot more grip than is "realistic", but it is possible to spin out and lose the bike. Controls are pretty straight forward as well which I like. Previous versions had some difficult to master control schemes. In this game the bikes are controlled in pretty much the exact same fashion you would a car game.

The single player is very very robust. There is the usual instant race, time attack, single GP, Championship and Moto GP Career modes that operate much like other games of the genre. There is a scenario based Real Events 13 reliving moments from last years season. There is also a similar mode where you challenge champions from history.

And last, and not least, the Safety Car Mode. Which allows you to Time Attack all the tracks in the official Moto GP Safety Car. A sweet 431HP BMW M4 Coupe. The car physics feel pretty good as well. I wouldn't rate them as high as GT or Forza. But not far off. Very nice addition to the game that adds a nice touch.

The list of bikes is pretty impressive. Obviously all the drivers and bikes from the series are in the game. As well as 4 other classes with lesser powered bikes and some classic ones as well. The list of tracks is very good.

Only place I'd give a slight knock is graphics. It's generally a very good looking game with a very well done front end a menu system. But the framerate does seem to slow at times. But not enough to really effect things, but noticeable.

I'd say this game is must rent. I'm probably going to buy.
