Great Title To End Series
I'm going to keep it short. This game looks amazing and has a lot of content to keep you playing for weeks. The fight system is easy to pick up and the characters are true to the series. Adventure mode is a bit lackluster but the overall package is a great rental and a must keep for fans.

Feels like they chugged this out for a quick buck
Doesn't have much of anything that the previous game didn't have. These guys might go the dynasty warrior route it seems as they're more than happy to sell you 95% the same game. On top of that, something just doesn't feel as smooth about the fighting as it used to. Two or three games ago in the series, characters had more combos(and they all didn't have to branch from the same first few hits), they could have more than one special move at a time, and the super moves were far more impressive.

I'm guessing they decided to drastically narrow the amount of work they put into each character in order to do a quantity over quality thing, which only works well in some cases. Problem is when you take an already rather limited fighting system and remove even more from it, it ends up seeming unreasonably barebones.

I waited a week+ for this!!
Story mode was great and i like the idea of creating your own character ...BUT the screenshot story was very boring, online was a little chopy and inconsistent. Great game if youve followed the naruto series .

eh it's ok.
This game is ok, fighting is very simple. Story is short and pretty repetitive, you literally fight the same two people for 80% of the story. It was fun for the 2 hours it take to beat the story.

Meh
it underutilized a massive roster of characters by not introducing you to them via story and adventure mode meaning free battle and online is the only place to familiarize yourselves with the roster. The tutorials don't do a great job explaining how to play or give tips on executing combos. I know the combat system is deeper than what I scratched because I absolutely got annihilated online but there was no way to bridge that skill gap. The story mode was too simplistic and the scaling did not exist though it was really cool as a fan of Naruto.
The biggest problem with the combat is the single button for combos (O). Rather than chain together heavy attacks and light attacks the combo button leaves few differentials in fighting styles. Online game play consistedmostly of well times blocks and jutsu spamming as well as just dodging around, in game vs cpu was mostly spamming the same combos while dodging and moving around. The fight engine in Broken Bonds was much preferable to this and I went in expecting something in the same vein.
All in all, good for fans of the series, but not a great game on its own.

Great game for an amazing show
Story is short but the game makes up for that with the other modes. The incredibly large roster and different combos of characters makes the game replayable and still seem somewhat fresh.

Easy to obtain but not easy to master.
First things first: if like most fighting games you expected this to be "easy to pick up and fairly easy to get the hang of" - like I did - you will be disappointed. While this is a great fighting game on its own, the way it handles the mechanics/controls of the fighting itself make it very difficult to master - or even get used to so you can start fighting against others online. Now if you are willing to put in a day or two in Practice mode, willing to find a character that fits your specific play/fighting style - and then after that time you go into the Team/VS/Whatever matches, having mastered the mechanics to some extent - you'll be fine. But if not, this game will make you suffer for it. You will lose repeatedly. You will get angry and you will get irritated and you will rage quit. I mean I did at first, and looking at these ratings I don't seem to be alone. So is it still worth a rent? Yeah, so long as you're still willing to put time and practice in. Who knows, I haven't tried Story mode yet - perhaps that's easier. In any case, unless you're willing to practice first then play, don't rent this game. You will end up returning it out of sheer frustration. Sorry guys.

broken game
this game is awful online wise the story is great but I'm a online player and this game is very un fun I tried to get use to the game but as of today I hit my limit its no fun the awakings are broken you can barely fight against then you can't secret technique cancel meaning if you use your secret technique and I use mines it won't cancel its who ever hit first gets it I don't see why cc2 delayed this game for it was super pointless. I know some of the real gamers out there see what I'm talking about if your not a real gamer then you will be fine with storm 4 if your a hardcore gamer it's meh if you know what I mean
