In a distant world on a tranquil, peaceful ocean, Ontama - gentle, lovely sound spirits - offer the natives a beautiful soundscape to their lives when conducted by an "Ontamaestro." When an evil demon gets the idea to kidnap the Ontama, two conducting students called Beat and Rest discover the plot and vow to stop the demon at any cost! Play 12 different stages, including a training stage, and master the individual melody to each as you challenge the villagers under the control of the demon. Do well to unlock "Ontama Points," which are used to unlock new songs, different items, and Ontama styles.

A Fun Yet Challenging Rhythm Game
WARNING! in case you couldn't tell, this game has various anime influences on character design,so if you're not into that sort of thing,or a large amount of text with little to no voice acting(Think Star Fox:Command),steer clear,This,as the headline for this review states,is a rhythm game, there's a little story, the usual bad guy does usual bad things for the usual bad reason of taking over the world and you playing as a boy or girl, your choice, have to stop him,as for the graphics it's mainly 2D art as with most DS games, but features some okay 3D for the characters,on to the big thing here, gameplay,as many professional reviewers are quick to point out,it is much like a cross between Elite Beat Agents and DDR,However, this does not necessarily mean if you like either or both then you will like this, there's no copyrighted music,so if you want to tap along to anything you've heard before, look elsewhere, what the gameplay basically comes down to is you tap the Ontama, the little puffball inhabitants of this world,to fill up notes, you then hit the notes in time with the music, using the D-pad or the buttons on the other side of the DS,sometimes both in hard mode, this game for me personally is fun, cute and challenging and takes little time to get used to,Definitely a recommended rent at least, but be warned, aside from hearing the music and having a fun little game to play every now and then, there isn't much replay value
