Taking a more straightforward approach than the popular Crimson Skies, Secret Weapons Over Normandy focuses on the epic events of World War II. As a fighter ace in the Allies' campaign against Nazi Germany, you will participate in a series of breathtaking battles against the deadly Luftwaffe. You will fly in over 30 missions using 20 different aircraft, engaging in air-to-air and air-to-ground combat throughout northern Europe. Work your way up the ranks of an elite fighter outfit and learn about the War's biggest secrets, secrets that could decide the fate of the War. Secret Weapons Over Normandy is another Lucas Arts gem that will please Lucas Arts fans, WWII buffs, and air combat enthusiasts.

Made by LucasArts, Meant for Fun!
A psuedo-sim of World War II air combat. Lots of planes and lots of fun. A classic in its generation of flight-sim games.

The graphics are great (from its own era of course), sounds are as good as they get (LucasArts products usually are), controls are intuitive... no manual/training required!

As a bonus, what else could be more fun than shooting down a bunch of prop planes with your StarWars Tie Fighter! (simply hilarious)

SWON Action Packed
So far I really like this game. The graphics are excellent and so is the action. I like the way the game is layed out with the mission choices and the actual history footage with the History Channel Narrator. The only thing I don't like so far, is the 2 player mode. You either have to battle one another or our score the other. I would prefer if in 2 player mode you could team up on the missions to complete them, in essence, having a real wing man you can depend on.

Authenticity...no, extremely fun...definetly
This game was a blast to play. I had fun with it from the second I popped it in the PS2. The missions are well rounded w/ hidden bonus missions increasing replay value. The only major gripe I had w/ this game was the lack of true control of the fighters. I wish I could do barrel rolls and things of that nature. But considering how old this game is, I took it in stride. I definetly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys flight sims or WWII games in general.

Good game
This is a solid game. Controls are pretty simple to get use to and very functional. Not a flight simulator, more of arcade action, so if you just want to plug in and go this is a game for you. Graphics and sounds are decent, if you liked Star wars Starfight or Jedi Starfighter you'll like this, same thing just with WWII planes and missions. Game is very "beatable" without having to spend tons of hours to master how to fly. Only complaint I have was with how the planes went down when you shot them, they pretty much fell straight down from the sky, not very realistic, but the game is a few years old so you might expect such things

secret weapons over normandy
The game is great! it's historic, has a good storyline, but what i don't like is that all the cool planes are in insant action or multiplayer.Did you know that if you compiete the game (with chalenges included) that you can unlock a plane that can go 600mph?BUT you only get it in instant action or multiplayer!
