pretty good
The graphics arent too good but the story clips and basic storyline easily make up for it,Its an extremly hard game if you do not know your species i myself could not beat the second level of the humans and the same goes with the predators yet ive beaten the game atleast 12 or more times with the aliens there are certain time requirement and side quests for each level and if you as them u get a star once you get all the stars u get cheats for that certain species so work hard and its very addictive there are very few levels but they all have ways around them although it may be a while untl you find them, the game throws you plenty of challenges and cool bonuses fro your species although there are annoying little pop ups that change your main quest completely but if your unsure about your species theres a bestiary where it displays there streagnths and weaknesses ill give your the basics

predator:most powerful

alien:most popules(u get 40 or 60 aliens(yes theres a limited amount of charicters you can have) )

human:they are the weakest and the average they have no good spots there the hardest to work with try not to pick them

i hope this review was helpful

classic RTS with hollywood twist
love this game played it when I was a kid, they should do a HD remake for all platforms. this game is for those that play star craft or age of empires and or halo wars. its just a strategy game and that's it very well put together for a PS2 game I hope to see another amped up version in the future I give it a 7 out of 10 in my books.

Aliens vs Predator: Extinction
Alow me to start this review, with a story. Once I was a little boy, and I was at the local video store. I was wandering the the rows of games, trying to decide wich game to rent this week. I then came across this game. I was intrieged by it. It was something I hadn't seen before, and it had the word, alien, in it so, naturaly, I had to at least try it. Little did I know I was about to embark on the most AWESOME adventure I had ever had. This game, not only gets the Alien and Predator lore correct, but it is also, the most unique RTS I have ever played EVER. The way all three factions function bassicly is: There is one type of unit that can order other units. You can have as many of those units as normal units (accept Aliens) but if you end up getting all the comander units killed, your stuck with the units you have. The Marines are your bassic RTS army. The commander unit is called the comtech, and he can also fix mechines. The Predators are similar, but in addition to getting points by killing the enemy, you can also grab their skulls for even more points. The commander unit here is called the the shrine, and it renews the energy of all the Predators around it (energy, by the way, can be used to revive or cloak your Predators). The shrine also burns enemys as an attack. Now the Aliens are my favorite. The way they work is you start with and egg. You can either hatch the egg or upgrade it. The normal facehuggers that come out of eggs can be commanded to face hugg a veriety of creatures to get different breeds of aliens. The upgraded eggs hatch Praetorian facehuggers. Wichever creature it facehugges it will allways turn into a Praetorian, wich can morph into a Queen. The Queen is the commander unit and i lays the eggs. As you can see, the Aliens are realy cool to play as. The other factions are also very fun. If they only added a skirmish mode, this would have been a perfect game. However, the levels are interesting and I'm satisfied.

A Wonderful RTS
Though my review may be a bit rusty as I haven't played this game since my earlier years of gaming I have got to say that for anyone that is looking for an interesting type of RTS experience this game brings it hands down. Each faction has a unique form of play ranging from the Alien's inability to make units without having a Facehugger put a "dead/comatose" into a deeper coma only to have them evolve into a chestburster which then becomes an alien based on what creature was used, to the Predator's who mix many different types of Micromanagement to easily control their race, to the simple Humans who are the classic form of Gameplay that many RTS player's will love to death.

The graphics do not par with the graphics of say Halo Reach but for an older Xbox game this is one game that you shouldn't pass up no matter what.

Also no, this game is nothing like Lemmings, or World of Warcraft. Lemmings consists of you trying to control individual units in a single way constantly as to make them form a safe passage for the other Lemmings, and World of Warcraft is a multiplayer game that has nothing to do with RTS's at all. World of Warcraft takes the lore of the popular Warcraft franchise and gives the player the ability to create their own avatar based off of many different races and classes so they may meet a common goal through leveling and challenging themselves alongside friends.

One of the best xbox games out there
If you are a fan of alien vs predator your going to love this game even if your not a fan. The game is not to hard or not to easy. The game is short but I found myself still playing after I beat the game. I love this game.

AvsP
GAMEPLAY: 7
GRAPHICS: 5

There is a reason why I put gameplay before graphics, because it's much more important to play a fun game then it is to look at a cool game that is boring.

I really love the Aliens and Predator movies, and this actually came out before the AvsP movie came out. So it;s not really a movie tie in, which is good. I just wish it was longer.

World of Warcraft ripoff...
I suppose if you are a fan of 'World of Warcraft' you'll dig this game. It's W.O.W. without the in depth technical creativity. For those of you who are not familiar with W.O.W, it's the basic 'Lemmings' (the old SNES game) style of game where you get a certain number of troops with there own special abilities (weapons, cloaking, can come back after they die, etc.) and you program [command] them the do certain tasks (battle, gather, decoy, etc.) to successfully complete each of the missions [levels] goals. You get to play seven levels (each) as The Aliens, The Predators and even the Humans [Marine Corps.] This game isn't my cup-o-tea (I've never been a big fan of this style of game). But I'm a fair reviewer, don't let that stop you from renting it. Here is how I'll break it down easily: if you like this type of game [W.O.W, Lemmings, Little Soldiers, Worms, etc.] then you're probably going to really love this game. But if you are more like me and this genre of game just doesn't do it for you (or if you were expecting another more familiar Alien vs predator), then you might want to pass on this one.
