Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is a gothic horror-action side-scrolling RPG set in 19th century England. A paranormal force has summoned a demon-infested castle, revealing crystal shards infused with tremendous magical power. Play as Miriam, an orphan scarred by an alchemist's curse which slowly crystallizes her body. To save humanity, and herself in the process, Miriam must fight through the castle and defeat the summoner, Gebel. Collect, craft, and unlock a vast array of weapons, equipment, and loot to defeat the countless minions and bosses of hell that await!

My favorite platformer in a long time.
I usually do not enjoy Gothica theme games like Catlevania but this one is very enjoyable. Variety of enemies, new skills to find/earn, unique environments, and fun bosses. Some of the Easter egg references are pretty awesome when you find them. It was a well earned 1000gs. The only issue for me was the requirement for manual saves. Getting our hand held for years with autosaves made me forget to run to save rooms every so often so a cliff or saw didn't take away 30 minutes of progress.

Cement boots ?
I have issues with the movement of the character feels like she has cement boots on doesn't flow smooth to get out of the way of a fast boss hits on you I almost gave up on the 2nd boss. I cant say I am thrilled over the woman you have to fight with lets have a choice of character's to pick from. Game looks good music good over all a okay game just nothing great. Great rent game for a hot summer day to stay inside the house. thanks

Combat is crisp, that's about it
A Symphony of the Night clone with more dialogue and an ugly art style. The combat is very crisp, but everything else feels dated. The framerate is inconsistent and most of the shards are nearly useless. The game feels like a knock off, at least after 5 hours. If you are compelled to collect everything then you might enjoy it, but this feels like a game built around a legacy for people with low expectations. Timespinner and Steamworld Dig 2 are much more compelling, modern takes on the formula.
