Link has washed ashore on a mysterious island with strange and colorful inhabitants. To escape the island, Link must collect magical instruments across the land and awaken the Wind Fish. Explore a reimagined Koholint Island that's been faithfully rebuilt in a brand-new art style that will entice fans and newcomers alike. Battle enemies as you conquer numerous dungeons and uncover the hidden secrets of the island. Encounter Super Mario enemies like Goombas, Piranha Plants, and more, and interact with unique locals who help Link on his adventure. As you clear dungeons throughout the main story, earn dungeon rooms (Chambers) then arrange them into custom layouts in the all-new Chamber Dungeon. Old School Reimagined
It’s been quite some time since I played this game. Feels new but has nostalgia of my youth. Great that you can pause and come back to.

Just as much fun as the original
I first played Link's Awakening in 1994 on my SNES through the Super Game Boy and it was amazing. Playing the Switch version was just as much fun but far better since I wasn't always pausing to switch out items. It's a great game to have in your collection and if not, just give it a rent for a week or two.

its ok.
gotta look up stuff, something I couldn't do as a kid playing the original, but even knowing what to do isn't making it much better

A Unique Zelda Experience
If you’re a fan of the puzzles from older Zelda games like I am, you’ll love this game. It’s short and sweet but the game mechanics, puzzle difficulty, and character cuteness will stick with you.

Same Old Ride (that's a good thing here)
When considering ports, remakes, reboots, remasters, re-dressings of any kind, you'll always have to remember back to the game's first time around. In this case, nearly everything is right where it was & all the memories will come back, even with a fresh coat of visuals and some smoothed out mechanics. Note: if you get your hands on the original game's playthroughs guides, you'll find they spoil nearly all of the Switch version, so even if you were a kid when you first beat this one, innate gamer memories may breeze you through too quickly For newer Zelda players the top-down style of Zelda game may play totally different than what you're used to, but you'll get an idea of the series' roots and why we fell in love with it way back when--even if the story & lore isn't as rich and developed as modern chapters. In some ways, some might debate that it's a shame this title remained too faithful to the original and didn't take the opportunity to expand on one of the great Zelda plots of any timeline by adding more item descriptions, cutscenes, dialogue, characters, dungeons, items, etc as it was a complete overhaul that started from scratch anyway, but it's a solid outing whether you're new to this title or revisiting it for nostalgia's sake & wished instead for Nintendo to mess with it as little as possible (wish granted).

Great Game Plauged by Frame Rate Issues
Great reimagining of a classic. The beautiful art style is unfortunately plagued by frame rate drops that don’t ruin the game, but are certainly noticeable. Overall the game is great for someone like myself who played the original, and if not for the performance issues may have been graded higher by me.

Great remake
This was a fun remake of the original Link's Awakening. I had a ton of fun running through all the nostalgic dungeons and puzzles. Art style was a great addition and made it a vibrant game!

If you are new to the franchise.
I haven't ever played a Zelda game untill Breath of the wild. That being said if you are new to the franchise then this game might not hit quite right, don't get me wrong it was a beautiful game to look at given that the game is nearly 30 years old but, the dungeons weren't fun to navigate and the process of figuring out the steps through the story seemed counter intuitive. I played through to the end and was left feeling like I wasted 12 grinding for the sake of playing. 5/10 game 10/10 visuals.

I didn't like it over the original.
Didn't like like the art style in game. Not fan of the post processing effects such as blur around the edge of the screen and bloom lighting. Didn't care for the updated music ether, the originals chip tunes were much better in my honest opinion. All the updates to the combat from the original ruined the game play for me. Chaining spin attacks together with regular strikes was my favorite part of the original and link to the past for that matter. They made the same change in link between worlds as well. Now I have to hold my shield out and then counter and it makes the pacing of combat feel much slower. For 60 dollars I would expect some extra content added in to a 10 to 15 hour game from 1993 that was originally 25 dollars. I would have expected something like a Masters Quest with harder rearranged Dungeons but alas nothing as substantial. What is the point in a hero mode with no heart drops if you re spawn on the same screen when you die? That's all I can think of right now but in a nutshell every change they made from the original had me scratching my head. While playing I had the urge time and time again to turn off my switch fire up my game boy yo play the original masterpiece. I believe in the 1990's Nintendo skill in game development peaked and modern Nintendo should just leave there past work alone and not try to reinvent the wheel for they are not up to the task. This game is a perfect example of this and just tarnishes the legacy of a masterpiece. Nintendo should just stick to making new games and here's an Idea, how about a new IP or two?
