A coalition of Western forces has accomplished its mission: ending the rule of dictator Al-Afad. But the victory is bittersweet. The country of Zekistan - cut by the Tien-Hamer (or "Ten Hammers") mountain range - is now in turmoil, with various forces waging a battle for power. One force, the coalition, is poised to restore order. Lead your four-man light infantry team, consisting of a team leader, rifleman, automatic rifleman, and grenadier, into Khardiman to secure the major city. Use squad-based tactics to seek strong positions, gather recon, and find cover. When things heat up, bring out mechanized units or call in airstrikes. Complete seven multiplayer missions on or offline.

THQ does it again
I was a big fan of FSW 1, and it seems as if THQ took all the aspects that were missing out of FSW1 and added the features their fans asked for into Ten Hammers. The enemy AI is a lot smarter, sniping enemies behind cover is now an option, and the maps are designed much better, so as to give you multiple routes to your objective instead of the cattle-chute style that FSW1 provided.

The one thing that I found lacking in this game was the online co-op play. I absolutely loved the online co-op play that FSW1 provided, and it seems like THQ scrapped that idea and tried to take aim at Rainbow 6 Style online squad-based competitive play with Ten Hammers...

Glitch
This game was awesome, the best strategy shooter ever. Until the level with the bridge. That’s where there was a glitch in the game, or maybe just the copy I had. I could do part of the level, but when I came time to get across the bridge it wouldn't let me get to the next objective. I could run wherever but not finish the level. Let me know if anyone else experienced it.

FSW-TH: Good But Frustrating
Overall, this version of the game is an improvement to the original where the levels are larger and the tactical elements make the game more interesting and a lot more difficult.

One of the things that made the first Full Spectrum Warrior great was the new way of controlling the characters in the game, where you were just commanding and not using them as a first person shooter. Ten Hammers tries to bridge the gap here and give you a precision aiming mode where you get to go into first person and actually fire on the enemy. The idea is nice but the execution is a bit lacking. In most cases, this mode is more of a same thing as before where you are just commanding the character to fire.

As well as the addition of online play, the other cool feature this time was the ability to split up your teams in 2 x 2 formation to allow for more real strategic play. Essentially, you could have 4 teams of 2 soldiers covering the entire map. It becomes a task to manage all those separate teams, but makes for a more intense experience.

On the needs improvement side, the AI was inconsistent. In many cases, the enemy seemed to be a better shot than your guys. This lead to frustration and repetitive need to either try to bring your wounded to a medic or restarting the level.

It's a good game and worth the rental.

Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers
I will start by letting you all know that I loved the first FSW and regret not having bought it while there was still much online activity with it. I had tried the demo of Ten Hammers and thought, "Good Lord, these controls are awkward", but I had to try the game. After playing the first couple of missions I found that the control was still pretty confusing and I felt that I needed to play the first mission a couple times to get used to the controls. Overall, I just found myself getting frustrated with inaccurate firing by my team and their inability to react quickly to threats. (ex. My team was ordered to move to the next point of cover. While on their way to that cover an enemy ran in front of them, not more than 10 feet ahead of them. Not one of my team could automatically respond to the threat and instead allowed the enemy to get behind cover and eliminate 3 members of the team. Even when ordered to fire at the enemy not 10 feet ahead of them, not one member of the team was able to make the kill.) Now, I understand that the FSW games are about tactics, but the real army has to adjust to unforeseen threats and there is no way that one terrorist fanatic would take out a squad of American soldiers from 8 feet away by hiding behind a garbage can. If you can get beyond that and accept that this game is solely about tactics then I think you'll love this game.

Better than the first
For the people who enjoyed the first full spectrum I would highly suggest getting this one. It has some upgrades like being able to control vehicles, splitting your fire teams up into two man groups and I think the best upgrade is the AI. Now although the AI is not perfect it is far improved over the first and you will actually notice them reacting to your moves in combat which you will notice will cause you to maybe play the level a few times before you beat it. It still controls and feels very much like the first but with the add ons they put on this time it is worth the time to check out.

i like it a lot
this game is an easy 10,the controls are a little hard to get the hang of,but after that the game is really easy to get into until the level where you sart on the street that was like impossible to beat.

but all around this was really good game it had decent graphics and exiting gameplay.the thing about this game was that your team were actually talented istead of the crappie teamates you get in other games.

ok i would say that this was definitly a good renter game but i probably wouldnt buy it unless you had live play.

gameplay.7/10
replayability.9/10
visuals.8/10
my rating.10/10

Another Glitch
Ten Hammers is now one of my favorites. That's why I nearly punched my Xbox when the game froze during "The Lost Squad" in ch. 4. My Box is modded so I thought that was the reason, but it happened when playing from the disc as well. I'm so sad I could cry.

Like it's brother
GAMEPLAY: 7
GRAPHICS: 6

Much like it's older brother, but improved AI and controls. Like I said for the other game, not your run of the mill spray and pray game. It takes patience and precision. Sit down kid.

Excellent sim game
Much improvement from the first title. This game really makes you think outside the box. Very original style of play. What I didn't like about it is how your guys can't shoot to save their lives. I know alot of infantry units that won't leave the range until the majority shoots expert.
