This open-world action-RPG from the creators of the Gothic series features lush graphics and an intriguing sci-fi fantasy setting. You're free to explore every part of Magalan, a world of magic and technology, inventive characters, deadly monsters, and complex choices. The world of Magalan was devastated by a meteor strike. Now everyone wants to control the limited supply of Elex, an element that gives people enhanced powers or can be used for mechanical inventions. The combat allows you to use a wide range of weapons including swords, axes, bows, harpoons, shotguns, plasma rifles, and even flamethrowers. The interlocking quest system means every decision has a real impact. Your choices shape whether emotions or cold logic will rule this strange world.

So much potential. Still fun.
The game starts out very interesting and fun. But then you quickly realize that they took a page from dark souls, because be prepared to die constantly until you get better gear. I didn't get better gear until very late on. I would like to see more variety of enemies and be able to compare my level to theirs. Many times I would go to fight an enemy but die in 2 hits. I've got about 13 hours invested right now and it still keeps my interest. It's a very challenging game but i like it.

Fun but needs work and major clip issue.
The game play isn't bad but be warned that you start as a weakling and most stuff will wreck you. I choose Clerics as my facion and its pretty cool. Game is a big buggy especially if you are exploring near the clerics home. Alot of the lava area has bad clipping bugs so you constantly fall through the map. I had no trouble getting new weapons but takes a lot of levels to be able to use most.

Addictive
This game is pure addiction. Story plot is good and the fact you can choose and join a faction well laid out. I am impressed. This is the type of game I look for to play hours on end. Beginning is rough which I like. Enjoy I did!!

I just couldn’t get into it..
I was thoroughly enjoying how vast the game is, as far the map and how much there is to do. However, I found myself very bored and not interested. I can see certain gamers getting REALLY into this, but it’s just not for me. I usually love open world RPG titles. Especially titles with a fantasy/sci-fi narrative. I didn’t mind that the game looks dated and unpolished, but the gameplay just felt clunky to me and that’s where it really lost me. I tried to give it some genuine gameplay time, but every fight felt boring and I couldn’t care less about continuing. I won’t say this isn’t a good game all around, but it definitely didn’t resonate with me.

Solid, Entertaining, but not polished.
It has a solid story, decent mechanics that steel from Fallout, Uncharted, and Horizon, but it definitely isn’t a polished game. At some points it’s a real struggle to keep moving on because of the lack of fine tuning, but it really is a solid game to give a rental to.

SO MUCH POTENTIAL
This game had so much potential, but it falls SO flat. It breaks my heart because the whole idea and monsters were so cool. The problem? It's game mechanics are NOT smooth at all, and... let's just say it's like a B movie that will not become a sleeper everyone will be talking about someday. Its like all Nordic games. They have so much potential, but seem to be missing something, and this one is missing a LOT of something.

Meh
If your dedicated you can play through. I played about 2 hours worth and got tired of spamming A, awkward mechanics, and pretty terrible UI. I didn't find anything really challenging and didnt bother finishing the game.

Game is slow and hard at first, but Ive had a lot of fun playing it. The map is large and fun to explore. Will be buying it so I can sink alot more hours into it

Basic
This game looks and feels like it was made for 360 and pushed out to the XOne. The game mechanics are stiff and unwieldy at times. I was so disappointed I didn't even finish.

Very Underrated Game
I never wright a review but with this game I have to. This is one of the most fun I've had in a long time. It is by no means easy and I like that, no matter where you go the have we and hard enemies so you really have to know when to run or fight. I like the fact that the world around you is living on it's own. Monsters and People fighting each other makes you feel like it's a real place. If you are not in a rush this game has a lot to offer.
Pros: Many weapons to find and use.
Your actions impact story.
Always a new mission to find or do.
30hrs + game time.
Cons: Game glitches and fps drops.
Have to grind to level.
AI is bad.
Fighting hand to hand can be a pain.
