What is Guilty Gear?
I have been a Guilty Gear fan since i played Guilty gear X for the playstation 2 a few years back, and to tell you the truth, i never even heard of this game until a friend recommended it to me. Now I can honestly say i've played my share of fighting games, but this is probably the best and unique fighting game available. First off if you are an anime fan (or a 2d fighting fan for that matter) of any sort you will love this game. Plain and simple. First off, you start with a fairly large roster of characters, each of which has a unique set of moves and instant death attacks (which is probably the best part of the game hands down), the moves are relatively easy to pick up, which makes it very easy to pick up for newcomers and veterans alike. all of the level backgrounds and character sprites are hand drawn and have a unique anime feel through the entire game. A great part about this psp version is that it is two games in one, a new side scroller (though a simpler version was released in Guilty Gear Isuka) and the Guily Gear X2 fighting game itself. I have any complaint about this game it would have to do with the psp' s design itself, though the default control scheme starts you off by using the d-pad, the anolog is your best choice for playing a game like guilty gear, unforutanatly both seem too small, and you will often find that you cant execute the right moves simply because you you cant manuver around the d pad or analog stick. Other than that, I think you should give this game a shot, even though its not as popular as streetfigther or Darkstalkers, its still a great game that true figting game fans will love. Try it out and see why this game is so popular in Japan.

Aww... And I was looking forward to this one.
First off, I loved GGX2. Great game. So when I read the reviews for this one, which amounted to GGX2reload + Tekken Forces clone, I couldn't wait for it to come out. But it really lost its shine... the bosses for Judgment are boring and waaay to easy, (not to mention the beat em up levels... shudder) Even the arcade AI seemed off, it was either a pushover, or way cheap. The graphics are about on the level, the sound is great (w/ headphones, but that goes without saying), awesome soundtrack, great character design... But the game was just boring and easy, I was done with it in four days, and I was taking my time. If you liked this (or 2D fighters in general), I recommend GGX2 on the PS2.
