Magic the gathering Battlegrounds
This Game is very good but it can get kinda boring after a while. It is very cool to have diffrent classes and skils to choose the quests are a little hard for people new to the game but for the most part its a good game.

My Rating:8

Interesting interpretation of the card game.
I'm a fan of the Magic card game. I've been playing for years. So lets just get that out of the way.

MTG:Battlegrounds is obviously based off of the card game. You'll see characters, creatures, and spells that are from the cards. The mana system and summoning system are very similar to the card game, but with a twist. To get mana you must pick up mana crystals which appear on the field periodically. You use this mana to summon creatures or cast spells.

When you summon a creature, a respawn point appears on the field right next to your position. The creature will automatically attack unless it's ability says otherwise. After the creature fights another creature or attacks the enemy, it will respawn back at it's point.

There are two types of magic: Spells and Enchantments. Spells happen instantly and usually lasts until the creature its affecting respawns. Enchantments stay in play until it is destroyed by a spell. Most spells affect creatures. Such as, increase attack and defense by two (aka +2/+2), or give the creature haste to make it faster. There are some spells that affect the opponent. Such as Direct Damage which will automatically lower your opponents life points.

For all those Magic: The Gathering fans out there. You do get to play all five colors in the campaign. unfortunately you can't mix and match colors. I heard that you could in multiplayer, but nobody was on XboxLIVE so I never had the opportunity to see. Also, you can only bring ten spells into battle. This restricts the different strategies you can do. Quite often you'll have to switch your strategy because you get a new spell.

Those of you out there who have never played Magic: The Gathering should still try this game. You might not appreciate it as Magic fans, but you might still enjoy it.

This game gets an 8/10 for a new way to play Magic: The gathering, but not that interesting for people who have not played Magic before.

Magic the Gathering: Battlegrounds
It can't match playing cards with another human, of course. But it does make an interesting twist to the game. I didn't expect this kind of gameplay, and finished kinda quick. But it was still fun!

I love it
This game was the coolest game I've ever played. I said "was" because my aunt burned it thinking it was her son's. You CAN mix and match the colors for the last few levels. You can choose your own deck at the end. The gameplay is ecxellent. I love it.

Worst Excuse for a Button-Masher Yet!
This game doesn't deserve to line your garbage can.

I gave this game an honest opportunity to win me - I played through several levels of the "StoryLine" and a couple rounds of Vs., and this game fails on ever level. In fact, let me just shorted that rating to "FAIL" just to make it clear how bad this is.

The storyline doesn't serve to advance any sort of story beyond that you could find in a Choose-Your-Own Adventure book - at least those are readable! The actual story is unengaging, and the Vs matches consist primarily of trying to time Melee attacks, since you won't get enough Mana to cast anything for some time. The storyline mode isn't much better, basically a slowed-down and slightly "special" Mortal Kombat - but with little to no direct combat.

Give this one a miss, and move on to something GOOD - not that I've found anything phenomenal on the XBox since the 360 came out.

Quest = challenge mode
Not a bad game for the orginal X-box. The quest mode feels more like a Challenge mode rather then an expanding story line of a real quest mode.
I do like the mix of action with a card game. Makes it much faster pace forcing u to think quickly.
