Same Game Every Year
Nothing has really changed since London 2012 other than improved graphics, though, this Wii U sports game does make one major deviation from the others in the Olympic crew -- no motion controls.

Fun Rental? Yes! (Don't Believe the Anti-Hype)
To be honest I have been seeing a lot of reviews unfairly pan this title. A sports themed first party sequel is going to make almost every reviewer roll their eyes but that is unfair as this is actually a pretty solid release.
There is a large cast of characters and unlockables, pretty decent online integration, a better graphics engine and the games themselves can be relatively fun. You can compete for leaderboard positions. The game is completely multiplayer with simplicity that works well for children without being a children's game.
I would recommend that you give it a try if you are on the fence about it. You might end up surprised!

boring
All you do is tap buttons fast as you can. And you hardly get to use analog stick

Not Worth $60 - More Like $30 or $40
The events are over simplified to the point that its just cheap button pushing. I was already sad enough that the new characters were linked to "certain events" only, but the fact that you're not given the animations for winning events or such is also saddening. Only good thing are the graphics as I gave up on deciding to unlock everything. I hoped the Wii U version was better than the 3DS, but after playing it, they feel on par in weakness. Nintendo or SEGA, you guys disappointed me by ruining one of my favorite running party game franchises with this "bland excuse" for an Olympic game.

great game for my 5 & 9 year old
My girls and I both enjoyed the game mainly because there are so many different events to do. I will be 100% honest and say it does get a little old after about 30-45 minutes. I play video games and enjoy it. So I'm glad for GameFly on this one.
